Getzen Valve Trombone Serial Numbers

Contact Information Dawkes Music Ltd The Woodwind & Brass Warehouse Reform Road Maidenhead Berkshire SL6 8BT United Kingdom. The serial number is A23104 making it a 1976-1979 vintage horn. The engraving is nice and sharp; it reads: 'Capri by Getzen'. This horn has a 1st valve trigger.

My early Getzen Eterna Prototype has a 'G' series s/n G3XXX. I contacted Mary at Getzen and was told probably 1960-1.

The trumpet has the bell flair of a 'DOC' Eterna, the valve assy is more centered and slightly different than the production Eterna, valve pistons themselves are the current standard Getzen type. Same diamond style bracing but about 25% larger. Has a Bach style third slide stop. Don't know if the leadpipe is the same. Namitha vyom sinha places. But the horn plays much darker than the later Eterna production models. I've heard of another Eterna thats similar but with a lower 'G' series number.
